On Saturday I’ll be spending the morning in Wooster, Ohio at the Tri-County Beekeepers’ Association Spring Beekeeping Workshop. I’ve been asked to be one of the judges of the honey recipe contest. I’m very excited to taste some delicious items made with local honey.
I enjoy recipes that include honey and have featured several here on the blog. Here are a few:

when you get back to Cleveland, check out Honey Hut Ice Cream; all flavors made with honey. I personally feel that their honey pecan with homemade hot fudge is the only way to go. I believe the Brecksville location is currently open…

…have fun!
How cool. I know a lot of the large hive that was kept @ ATI got destroyed in the tornado a few years ago. Have they been able to recover? I have become addicted to whipped honey on biscuits. It reminds me of my Momaw when she used to whip honey and cinnamon and slather it all over leftover biscuits for lunch. So yummy.
Local Honey is huge down here because it helps you build up a tolerance to the pollen from cedar trees. 🙂
Congratulations on being asked to be a judge, I am sure it will be fun. My favorite is honey on warm biscuits.
I have favourited this page. Always looking for good honey recipes.
I have a new type of beehive arriving next week, so look forward to making lots of honey. Have you heard of this beehive in the USA? Its called a beehaus. I have written a review of the beehaus which you might find of interest.
