It’s been a great weekend in DC. We’ve seen many of the sights and had a great time hanging out with our friends. This afternoon is the March for Equality. A longer posts and lots of pictures when we return back to Ohio tonight.

off to Washington, D.C.
We’re leaving tonight and heading to D.C. for Sunday’s National Equality March. I’m looking forward to marching with my partner of nearly nine years and our friends. It’s time that gays and lesbians in committed long-term relationships be able to marry, just like our straight friends and family members. It’s about dignity, respect and equality…
roasted tomatoes
My first attempt at growing tomatoes has been an unqualified success. The plant has supplied us with mini romas for most of the summer. Finally today, I put the remaining bounty to the roasting test. Bathed with olive oil, salt and freshly ground pepper and roasted at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Towards the end…
the hiking spree continues: trails 6,7,8 & 9

trails 4 & 5, hiked

The overpowering stench was probably helped because the aged clerk was smoking her Virgina Slim as she took me around the…
hitting the lanes again tonight
Week two of the bowling league tonight. In case you’re wondering, our team name is mash-up of all of our last names.
our hiking spree began
Greg and I began our task of tackling the Summit County Metro Parks Hiking Spree. You have to complete a minimum of eight trails from the beginning of September through the end of November. As mentioned in previous posts, we attempt this every year with the intention of finishing the spree and earning our hiking…
peanut butter + bacon = amazing
Yesterday evening I was checking some of my favorite food blogs and came across Joy the Baker’s post about Peanut Butter Bacon Cookies. She had me at bacon, but won me over at just five ingredients. I whipped up a batch this morning. They don’t look as perfect as seen on her blog, but they…
